Why Ronda Spain is a Hidden Gem for Expats Looking to Relocate.

Ronda, Spain, is a breathtaking small city perched atop the El Tajo gorge, offering a unique mix of history, affordability, and natural beauty, making it an ideal place for expats to relocate. A little over a year ago, I was in Spain and regretted not visiting Ronda, as it perfectly blends Andalusian charm with modern conveniences. The city’s real estate market is attractive, with apartments starting at around €120,000 and charming townhouses or country homes ranging from €200,000 to €700,000, offering stunning views and traditional Andalusian architecture. Compared to coastal hotspots like Marbella or Malaga, Ronda offers a more affordable cost of living, making it an excellent choice for retirees and remote workers. The culinary scene is impressive, with restaurants like Tragata, Casa María, and Bodega San Francisco serving authentic Spanish cuisine, while Restaurante Bardal offers a Michelin-starred experience. Outdoor lovers can enjoy hiking in the Sierra de las Nieves National Park, exploring nearby vineyards, or taking in the historic streets and Moorish landmarks. Though Ronda has a peaceful, small-town feel, it still provides all essential services, from hospitals and schools to supermarkets and reliable transportation, and is just 1.5 hours from Malaga’s international airport. With its mix of history, affordability, and stunning landscapes, Ronda is an excellent relocation option for those looking to experience authentic Spanish living without the high costs of larger cities.
